Kansas datacenter infrastructure

Kansas hosts 2 documented datacenter projects representing $15.7B in disclosed investment and 0.6 GW of power capacity. The state has emerged as a hub for AI/ML infrastructure, attracting hyperscaler investment. Multiple hyperscale operators have established presence in the state.

Correction (August 2026). This page previously counted seven Kansas City metro projects that are physically in Missouri. The wiki’s own dataset recorded their counties correctly — Clay, Platte and Jackson are all Missouri counties — but filed them under Kansas, apparently because the city is named “Kansas City”. Three of the seven were also duplicated in Missouri’s records, inflating national totals.

Those records have been reassigned and deduplicated. Kansas retains the two projects that are genuinely in Kansas: Red Wolf (Wyandotte County) and De Soto/Project Pilot (Johnson County). The $100B Project Kestrel, which drove the state’s former “#2 by investment” ranking, is in Platte County, Missouri.

Remaining figures on this page come from a December 2025 dataset snapshot and are otherwise unrefreshed; treat them as a floor.
