Brussels Summit Communiqué – NATO 2030
Brussels, Belgium – 14 June 2021
The communiqué endorsed NATO 2030 decisions to sharpen political consultation, enhance resilience (including baseline requirements), preserve the Alliance’s technological edge (via the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic – DIANA – and the NATO Innovation Fund), and deepen partnerships.
Key Outcomes
- NATO 2030 package on resilience, technology, climate and security, and partnerships.
- Reinforced deterrence and defence; continued support to partners, including Ukraine and Georgia.
- Reaffirmation that hybrid and cyber activities could, in certain circumstances, lead to Article 5.
