Readiness Action Plan (RAP)
Newport, Wales – 4–5 September 2014
The RAP combined immediate assurance measures (air, land, and maritime presence and exercises) with adaptation measures to enhance the Alliance’s long‑term deterrence and defence posture, notably establishing the VJTF and improving command, control, and enablement across Europe.
Key Measures
- Enhanced forward presence and persistent rotational activities.
- Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) as the spearhead of the NRF.
- Headquarters adaptation, pre‑positioning, and improved reception, staging, and onward movement (RSOM).
